Search syntax

Results appear as you type in the search box; nothing breaks if you stop mid-query, and parts it doesn’t understand are treated as plain text.

Click the question mark to the right of the search box to see examples; click an example to run that search.

Combining conditions

Syntax	Meaning
poster blue	A space means AND: both must be present
poster OR illustration	OR; you can also write 或 or a vertical bar ｜ (half-width works too)
-draft	Exclude; you can also write NOT draft
(poster OR illustration) -draft	Group with parentheses

When you don’t specify a field name, it searches names, tags, notes, URLs, formats, and text recognized in images.

Searching by field

Comparisons and ranges

• .. indicates a range, inclusive of both ends
• When only one value is given for duration, it allows a half-second tolerance: duration:3s finds 2.5 to 3.5 seconds

Wildcards and regular expressions

• * is a wildcard: tag:post* finds tags starting with “post”, like “poster” or “postcard”
• Text between two slashes is a regular expression: name:/^IMG_\d+$/ finds filenames that are IMG_ followed by digits

Fields added by plugins

Fields that plugins add to assets can be searched the same way, such as camera settings read by a camera info plugin.

Chinese, English, and full-width characters

• Field names work in both Chinese and English: tag:poster rating:>=4 is the same as 标签:poster 评分:>=4
• Colons, parentheses, and quotes can be full-width and still be recognized, so you don’t need to switch input methods

Save as a Smart Folder

After you get the results you want, click “Save as Smart Folder” on the right side of the filter bar. It will appear in the sidebar and update automatically when assets change.

Saving again inside a Smart Folder creates a sub-Smart Folder that filters only within its results.

Describe the image in a sentence

After enabling “AI Search” in Settings, click ✦ to the right of the search box to switch to “Search by content”. Describe the image in Chinese or English, such as “red sneakers on a white background”, and the most relevant results appear first.

• The first time you enable it, about 1.5 GB of models are downloaded. After that, analysis and search run on your computer; images are not uploaded.
• Right-click an asset and choose “Find similar” to find assets with similar images.
• You can also use filter conditions while searching by content.
